FDC Appointed to Build Bradfield City Central Park

Bradfield City’s landmark Central Park has moved a step closer to delivery with the appointment of FDC Construction & Fitout as head contractor for the two-hectare public space. Located above the upcoming Bradfield Metro Station, Central Park will serve as the city’s primary arrival point, offering residents, businesses and visitors a major green space at the heart of Australia’s first new city in 100 years. FDC will deliver key park infrastructure, including the Sky Ring, Woven Play and Interwoven Heart play areas, and the Gathering Green, designed to host events for up to 5,000 people. The scope also covers amenities, pathways, decks, lighting and landscaped boulevards. The project includes planting more than 550 mature trees and over 55,000 native shrubs, grasses and groundcovers across more than 84 species. Public art co-designed with Dharug artists will be integrated throughout the park. Designed by ASPECT Studios, the park will also incorporate technology to support climate-responsive management and user safety. Construction is expected to commence in the second half of 2026, with Central Park scheduled to open alongside the Bradfield Metro Station.
