Jyoti Structures Appoints Amit Dutta as Chief Operating Officer

Jyoti Structures has recently announced the appointment of Amit Dutta as its Chief Operating Officer. The appointment comes at a critical phase of the company’s growth, as it strengthens execution capabilities across its Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) portfolio.

In his role, Amit Dutta will oversee operations across JSL’s EPC businesses, with a focus on execution discipline, operational governance, and timely, cost-efficient project delivery. He will work closely with the leadership team to enhance operational effectiveness and improve coordination across project functions.

A seasoned professional in the power transmission and distribution sector, Dutta brings 36 years of industry experience spanning business development, tendering, project execution and contract management, with strong emphasis on cost and time control. His career includes the delivery of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage transmission projects across India and international markets.

Prior to rejoining Jyoti Structures, he spent over six years as Senior Vice President with another company in the sector, where he led EPC transmission projects across Africa, as well as parts of North and South America. His role involved managing execution in complex operating environments, including claims management and stakeholder engagement.

Commenting on the appointment, Rajesh Kumar Singh, CEO, Jyoti Structures Limited, said that Dutta’s return strengthens the company’s operational leadership. He highlighted Dutta’s deep execution experience, long association with the company, and exposure to complex domestic and international projects as key strengths supporting disciplined delivery and operational efficiency.

This marks Dutta’s second stint with Jyoti Structures, with his association with the company spanning nearly three decades. He first joined the organisation in 1991 as an Assistant Engineer and went on to hold multiple leadership roles across project execution, coordination, business development, tendering and marketing, contributing to several landmark transmission projects in India and overseas.

Amit Dutta said he was pleased to rejoin Jyoti Structures at an important phase in its journey, adding that his focus would be on strengthening operational efficiencies and ensuring consistent execution across complex projects in diverse geographies.

Jyoti Structures has recently commissioned galvanisation operations at its second tower manufacturing unit in Nashik, expanding manufacturing capacity to support ongoing and future projects. The company has also reported a strong Q3 FY2025–26 performance, reflecting improved execution momentum and operational discipline across its core businesses.
