RRM To Lead Indian Delegation At World Defence Show 2026
Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM) Sanjay Seth will lead a high-level Indian delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the third World Defence Show on February eight and nine 2026. The delegation will include senior officers from the Department of Defence Production and the Armed Forces and will attend an event expected to host more than 700 exhibitors and around 400 official delegations. The visit has been described by officials as an opportunity to strengthen defence ties and to promote India's defence manufacturing capabilities.
RRM will inaugurate the first ever India Pavilion at the show, spread over an area of 400 square metres, which will showcase the country's growing indigenous capabilities in defence manufacturing and technology. The pavilion will feature public sector defence enterprises Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), Munitions India Limited (MIL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), India Optel Limited (IOL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and Yantra India Limited (YIL). Participating organisations are expected to present systems and solutions that reflect recent progress in design and production.
Exhibited items will range from tanks and artillery gun systems to missiles, ammunition and radars, illustrating capabilities across platforms and munitions. On the sidelines of the show, a bilateral meeting between RRM and his Saudi Arabian counterpart is planned, and the delegation will hold discussions with representatives of leading Saudi Arabian industry bodies to enhance defence cooperation. Officials indicated that the engagements are intended to open pathways for industrial collaboration and market access.
The World Defence Show is a biennial international exhibition hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is regarded as strategically important for the Indian defence industry. The participation is intended to highlight indigenisation initiatives, advanced technologies and manufacturing strengths while fostering international partnerships within the global defence ecosystem. The delegation's activities at the event are expected to bolster export opportunities and support long term industrial ties.
