2026-03-04
Caterpillar recently showcased a wide range of advanced technologies, digital platforms and equipment solutions at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, highlighting innovations designed to improve productivity, enhance safety and address labour shortages across construction jobsites.
The company demonstrated how integrated technologies, services and connected equipment can simplify operations and help contractors manage increasingly complex construction environments.
One of the centrepieces of the showcase was a 70,000 sq ft outdoor Operator Stadium where visitors could see advanced construction technologies in action. The space hosted live demonstrations featuring machine automation, remote operations and connected equipment designed to improve jobsite efficiency and operator performance.
Caterpillar also introduced Cat Compact, a new streamlined customer experience tailored for small contractors and growing businesses. The platform enables customers to buy, rent and service compact equipment through a combination of digital tools and dealer support, helping simplify equipment management and reduce operational complexity.
Digital innovation formed a key focus of the exhibit, including the introduction of the Cat AI Assistant, which enables operators and managers to interact more easily with equipment and digital systems. The tool provides real-time insights and recommendations to support faster decision-making across construction operations.
Caterpillar also highlighted VisionLink, its fleet management platform that integrates equipment data across on-highway and off-highway assets. Through collaboration with Geotab, the platform now allows contractors to monitor mixed fleets through a single interface, improving productivity, compliance and cost management.
In the area of construction automation, visitors could watch the company’s autonomous Cat CS12 soil compactor operating in real-world scenarios, along with demonstrations of the Cat Detect Collision Mitigation system designed to improve jobsite safety.
The company also presented updated customer programmes including Cat Rewards, financing through the Cat Commercial Account and an upgraded Services Commitment offering faster parts delivery and repair timelines.
Through its expanded rental solutions and digital platforms, Caterpillar emphasised its strategy of delivering a connected ecosystem of machines, services and technologies aimed at improving equipment uptime, operational efficiency and long-term customer productivity across the construction industry.
