SANY India Trains First All-Women Excavator Operator Batch

SANY India recently enabled the first all-women batch of excavator operators at the National Academy of Construction (NAC), Andhra Pradesh. A group of 22 women trainees successfully completed the programme and received certification in March 2026, marking a significant step toward improving gender diversity in India’s construction equipment sector.

The training programme was conducted using the SANY SY120 excavator, provided by the company to support practical learning. The course syllabus was developed by SANY India to align with industry practices and operational requirements. NAC trainers were also trained and certified by the company to ensure high training standards before delivering the programme to the participants.

After completing the course, trainees received certification under the Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council (IESC) framework, improving their employment prospects in infrastructure and construction projects across the country. NAC will also support placement opportunities for the graduates as they begin their careers in the construction equipment industry.

The certificate distribution ceremony was held on 6 March 2026 at NAC-AP in Pulivendula, Kadapa district. Madhusudan Katragadda, Dealer Principal at Madhura Engineering Pvt. Ltd., attended as the chief guest and presented certificates to the trainees. The event was also attended by Rakesh Mekala, Assistant Director at NAC, along with faculty members and representatives from SANY India.

The initiative reflects the company’s focus on inclusive workforce development and aims to encourage more women to pursue careers in the construction and infrastructure sector.
