Construction Equipment Industry Registers 8% YoY Growth in February 2026

The Indian Construction Equipment (CE) industry recorded a remarkable total of 13,795 units sold in February 2026, showing an 8 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth, accompanied by a 2 per cent month-on-month (MoM) increase. This growth reflects the industry's ongoing recovery and its ability to adapt to market demands amidst dynamic market conditions.

Segmental trends from February 2026 highlight the continued momentum in key equipment categories, with notable performances in certain segments:
  • Road Construction Equipment: Showcased the most significant growth, with a 49 per cent increase in YoY sales, underscoring the continued push for infrastructure development across India.
  • Material Processing Equipment: Saw a robust 19 per cent YoY increase, reflecting the rising demand for advanced technology in material handling and processing.
  • Material Handling Equipment: Grew by 5 per cent YoY, showing steady demand within this segment.
  • Concrete Equipment: Recorded marginal growth, reflecting its essential role in construction activities.
  • Earthmoving Equipment: Experienced a slight decline in MoM sales, down by 1 per cent, signaling a modest slowdown in this segment compared to previous months.

The strong growth in exports has been a major driver for the CE industry. Exports rose by 30 per cent compared to January 2026, demonstrating the industry’s increasing global presence. Meanwhile, domestic sales remained stable, contributing to overall growth.

Overall, the industry’s performance in February 2026 shows robust momentum, driven by a strong export sector and sustained domestic infrastructure activity. The future outlook remains positive, as both private and public sector investments in infrastructure continue to create demand for construction equipment.

“The significant growth in road construction and material processing equipment signals an optimistic future for the industry, as India accelerates its infrastructure development projects,” said a spokesperson from ICEMA.

The CE industry’s 8 per cent YoY growth in February 2026 is a testament to its resilience, with steady sales growth and a strong export performance. As India continues its focus on infrastructure development, the demand for construction equipment is expected to remain strong, providing ample opportunities for both domestic manufacturers and global players.
