Cortec Wins Silver Safety Award in Minnesota
2026-03-31
Cortec Corporation, based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, will be recognised for excellence in workplace safety and health at the 2026 Minnesota Safety and Health Conference scheduled for 5–6 May. The company is among over 300 employers honoured through the awards programme coordinated by the Minnesota Safety Council.
The annual Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards programme, established in 1934, recognises organisations demonstrating exceptional safety performance. Applicants are evaluated based on multiple years of injury data compared with state and national benchmarks, along with their progress in implementing comprehensive safety programmes.
Cortec received the Silver Achievement Award, placing it among 113 winners acknowledged for excellence in occupational injury prevention during 2025. The award is granted to organisations that achieve an incident rate better than the 50th percentile of both state and national averages. This is particularly significant for chemical manufacturers, where safety requirements are more stringent.
The company continues to strengthen its safety culture through proactive measures such as identifying potential hazards early and encouraging employee participation in safety practices. It also tracks and displays the number of days since the last OSHA recordable injury as a reminder of its commitment to workplace safety.
This marks the sixth time Cortec has received the Governor’s Safety Award since 2019, reinforcing its continued focus on employee well-being and safe manufacturing practices globally.
