C-DOT Signs MoU With Delhi Police To Boost Smart Policing

Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Delhi Police to deploy indigenous technologies aimed at strengthening secure communications, surveillance and emergency response in the national capital. The collaboration is intended to advance technology-driven policing and support the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by applying homegrown solutions to law enforcement challenges. The agreement covers the roll-out of nine advanced solutions purpose-built for modern policing requirements.

The deployment will include a facial recognition system (FRS) known as FraudPro to assist identification of suspects, missing persons and repeat offenders through photograph matching with existing databases, thereby supporting investigations and crowd monitoring. SAMVAD, C-DOT's unified communication solution, is planned to provide secure one-to-one and group messaging, audio and video calls and official data sharing across units and specialised branches. SAMVAD Prime, a handset-based secure messaging system, will be used by senior officers and operational teams to maintain confidentiality and integrity during critical operations.

C-DOT Meet, a secure web-based video conferencing platform, will enable multi-camera access, presentation sharing and collaborative tools for briefings, inter-unit coordination and training. The C-DOT Mission Critical Services (MCX) platform is intended to deliver secure, low-latency communications tailored for public safety and emergency operations to support real-time coordination during large-scale events and disaster response. An intelligent attendance system powered by facial recognition will be deployed to enhance administrative efficiency and access control at sensitive installations, while a cell broadcast solution will permit geo-targeted dissemination of public alerts and advisories.

On the cybersecurity front, Trinetra ESOC, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered integrated security operations centre, will provide monitoring of endpoints to identify vulnerabilities and detect anomalies across internal and internet-facing systems, complemented by Trinetra 360 for cyber intelligence and digital risk management. Quantum-based security solutions including a compact encryption module, quantum secure smart video phones and quantum key distribution will offer future-ready resilience for voice, video and data communications. Senior officials from both organisations signed the memorandum and reiterated their commitment to building a technology-driven policing ecosystem that may serve as a model for law enforcement across the country.
