Numaligarh Refinery Records Highest Crude Processing in FY26

The plant operated beyond its rated capacity of 3.000 million tonnes per annum (mn tpa) for the second consecutive year and with stable feedstock availability.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) output rose by 22 per cent in March 2026, reflecting improved yields and operational efficiency amid steady demand. The refinery also reported record-high Motor Spirit (MS) production for the full year, supporting domestic fuel availability. Enhanced product yields and optimised fractionation were cited as contributors to the higher LPG and MS outputs and ensured timely dispatches to distribution channels.

The achievement underscores the company’s continued focus on efficiency and reliability in operations and on meeting India’s growing energy requirements. Operational discipline and sustained maintenance practices were cited as key factors behind the performance. Routine maintenance cycles were maintained alongside reliability programmes to ensure uninterrupted operations and strengthened coordination with suppliers and logistics partners. Quality control and regulatory compliance remained priorities throughout the year with improved yield predictability.

The milestone is expected to strengthen the company’s role in the national refining and fuel supply ecosystem and to contribute to stable market supplies. Management indicated that continued focus on process optimisation and asset integrity will be central to sustaining output levels. The results are likely to support regional energy availability and market stability, benefitting downstream consumers and distributors.
