PRANA by Nila Gets EDGE Advanced Pre-Certification

PRANA by Nila, a residential project developed by Nila Urban Living, has received the EDGE Advanced Preliminary Certification from Sintali, becoming the first residential development in GIFT City to achieve an EDGE building certification.

The recognition comes soon after PRANA secured the WELL Pre-Certification, positioning it among a rare set of residential projects pursuing both global green building and wellness standards simultaneously.

The EDGE Advanced certification acknowledges the project’s strong performance in sustainable design and resource efficiency. PRANA has recorded 48 per cent energy savings, 52 per cent water savings, and a 46 per cent reduction in embodied carbon in construction materials—well above the baseline requirements of the EDGE standard.

PRANA comprises 696 residential units and has been planned to generate measurable environmental benefits. The project is expected to record annual operational CO₂ emissions of 312.84 tCO₂/year, while also delivering savings of 244.44 tCO₂/year.

To meet these sustainability goals, the development includes several advanced measures such as reflective roofing, insulated walls, and high-performance glass, along with energy-efficient cooling systems, lighting, and ventilation. The project also integrates onsite renewable energy generation, water-efficient fixtures, wastewater recycling systems, and low-carbon, material-efficient construction techniques.

EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), developed by IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, mandates a minimum 20 per cent improvement in energy, water and material efficiency compared to local benchmarks.

With this milestone, Nila Urban Living has set a new benchmark for environmentally responsible residential development in GIFT City.
