ACME Solar Gains As BESS Capacity Tops Two GWh In Rajasthan

ACME Solar Holdings shares rose one point three five per cent to Rs 300.30 after the company operationalised more than two gigawatt-hour (GWh) of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan. The firm said the move followed completion of projects intended to bolster grid stability by storing power during off?peak periods and supplying it during peak demand. Market response reflected investor focus on the expanded storage footprint.

The company said cumulative operational battery energy storage system capacity now stands at 591.18 Megawatt (MW) and 2,031.24 megawatt-hour (MWh) across subsidiaries in the state. The projects are intended to smooth supply variability from renewable generation and to support grid balancing services. Operationalisation in multiple locations is expected to enhance dispatch flexibility for the regional network.

ACME Solar plans to scale up its BESS capacity to 10 GWh by 2027 and aims to accelerate deployment as part of its growth programme. The firm has a total portfolio of 8,071 Megawatt across solar, wind, storage and hybrid projects, with 2,990 MW operational and 5,081 MW under construction. The expansion strategy targets both capacity build and commissioning timelines to improve earnings visibility.

The company reported consolidated net profit rose one point four seven per cent to Rs 1,137.1 million (mn) on a forty two point three per cent jump in net sales to Rs 4,966.2 mn in the third quarter of FY26 over the same period a year earlier. Earlier this month a foreign brokerage initiated coverage with a buy rating and a target price of Rs 350, noting that the firm is well placed to benefit from a strong project pipeline and supportive policy measures. The brokerage indicated that ongoing capacity expansion and rising solar auction activity underpin the growth outlook.
