Adani commits $100 billion for AI infrastructure in India
2026-04-29
Adani Group has committed $100 billion to develop a large-scale AI infrastructure platform in India, focusing on integrated energy, digital networks and data centres to support the country’s growing artificial intelligence ecosystem.
The announcement was made during an event in Visakhapatnam for the foundation of a major AI data centre project involving Google, which plans to invest $15 billion in the facility. The campus, being developed with partners including Adani ConneX, is expected to be among the largest AI data centre developments globally.
The platform will be powered by clean energy and designed for scale, speed and resilience, with a focus on reducing computing costs and enabling wider access to AI technologies. The project highlights India’s emergence as a key hub for digital infrastructure, with Visakhapatnam positioned as a major centre for AI-led growth.
With India’s current data centre capacity at around 1.3 GW, the planned development of nearly 1 GW at a single location signals a significant expansion, reinforcing the country’s ambitions to scale AI infrastructure and drive digital transformation.
