Event focuses on green growth and climate-resilient cities
The Confederation of Indian Industry – Indian Green Building Council (CII IGBC) organised the Madhya Pradesh Sustainability Conclave in Indore, centred on green growth, climate resilience and responsible urban development. Held at the Marriott Hotel, the conclave brought together policymakers, industry leaders, planners and sustainability experts to discuss strategies for accelerating green building adoption and sustainable urbanisation across the state.
Madhya Pradesh has built a green footprint of more than 510 million sq ft with over 549 IGBC-registered projects across commercial, residential, industrial, logistics and transit sectors. Shri Sanjay Dubey, Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, said the state is prioritising sustainability through policy support, revised building bye-laws and possible incentives for IGBC-rated projects. Dr Parikshit Zade, Chief Executive Officer, Indore Development Corporation, highlighted Indore’s initiatives including renewable energy adoption, circular economy projects and expansion of urban green cover. C Shekar Reddy, National Chairman, IGBC, said Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a hub of green excellence, with a strong share of projects achieving Platinum and Gold ratings. The conclave also featured discussions on climate-resilient infrastructure, resource-efficient systems, sustainable materials and innovative technologies for the built environment."
