India Netherlands Relations Move Towards Stronger Strategic Partnership

The minister observed that this complementarity has supported expanding economic engagement and increased bilateral investment. He referred to the Dutch multinational Philips and observed that it has a larger consumer presence in India than in the Netherlands, indicating deep commercial links. The minister also noted that people-to-people ties and the Indian diaspora in the Netherlands, though relatively small, remain active and contribute to the relationship. The event saw attendance from members of the diplomatic community and other distinguished guests.

The ambassador of the Netherlands to India, Marisa Gerards, conveyed that both countries are moving towards a stronger strategic partnership and are working together on climate resilience, sustainable agriculture and global supply chains. She emphasised that the partnership combines innovation, technology and shared values to address global challenges. Dr Jitendra Singh expressed confidence that relations will continue to strengthen across diverse sectors of mutual interest.
