Covestro names Klaus Fröhlich as new CFO

Covestro’s Supervisory Board has unanimously appointed Klaus Fröhlich as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer. The 53-year-old will assume the role from Christian Baier on 1 October 2026 and will also join the Board of Management of Covestro AG.

Fröhlich is currently Group Chief Investment Officer at ADNOC and brings over 25 years of experience in finance and international investment banking. He has previously served as Chief Financial Officer in Saudi Arabia and worked with Morgan Stanley, most recently as Head of Investment Banking for the Middle East and North Africa.

Christian Baier had informed the Supervisory Board in December 2025 that he would not extend his contract and would leave Covestro at the end of his term on 30 September 2026. The early decision has enabled a planned transition in the company’s finance function.

The Supervisory Board thanked Baier for his contribution during a strategically important phase for Covestro, particularly in developing the company’s strategy and implementing key transformation initiatives.
