Epiroc Supports Shimla Bypass Tunnel Work

Epiroc is supporting the Shimla Bypass Tunnel Project by delivering precision excavation solutions for one of India’s geologically sensitive regions. Working with Bharat Constructions (India) Pvt Ltd on the NHAI project along NH-5, the company has deployed its HB 3600 DP hydraulic breaker to enable controlled, non-explosive excavation.

The equipment is helping maintain tunnel progress in areas where conventional drill-and-blast methods face restrictions due to populated and vibration-sensitive surroundings. Epiroc’s solution supports safer excavation, regulatory compliance and steady project execution.

The company is also providing on-site training and technical support to optimise performance, reduce downtime and ensure reliable operations in challenging underground conditions.

The Shimla Bypass project is expected to improve regional connectivity, ease urban congestion and support long-term socio-economic growth across Himachal Pradesh and nearby regions.
