DHL Express Launches Heavy Weight Service
2026-05-14
DHL Express has expanded its Time Definite International portfolio with the global launch of Heavy Weight Express, an air express solution for shipments weighing up to 1,000 kg per piece and 3,000 kg per shipment. The service will be available across more than 220 countries and territories.
The new solution is designed for industries where timing, reliability and shipment visibility are critical. It offers time-definite delivery, end-to-end control, proactive monitoring and transparent all-in pricing. DHL said the service will help reduce uncertainty linked to capacity fluctuations, handling surcharges and delays in conventional freight movements.
Heavy Weight Express will be supported by dedicated Heavy Weight Priority Desks, which will manage proactive tracking, early exception detection, real-time intervention and direct customer communication. Each shipment will receive dedicated case ownership to improve predictability and ensure smoother movement across DHL’s global aviation, customs and last-mile network.
The service addresses heavyweight logistics needs across sectors such as technology, automotive, engineering, machinery, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas and energy. Key use cases include avoiding production downtime, supporting product launches, reducing inventory buffers, managing large-scale procurement shipments and meeting special handling requirements.
DHL Express India has also launched a digital campaign titled ‘Heavyweight Express’, featuring Mumbai Indians players Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Ryan Rickelton with The Great Khali. The campaign highlights the importance of reliable express logistics when moving large, high-value and time-sensitive shipments.
