Wirtgen Group Powers Mumbai–Pune Connectivity Project

The inauguration of the Mumbai–Pune Missing Link marks a key milestone in Maharashtra’s infrastructure development, improving connectivity and reducing travel time between two major economic centres. Wirtgen Group India supplied advanced concrete and asphalt paving technologies that ensured precision, quality, and high operational efficiency.

Challenging mountainous terrain and tunnel sections near Lonavala and Khandala required reliable performance under demanding conditions. Wirtgen Slipform Pavers handled tunnel concrete paving, while Voegele Asphalt Pavers managed viaduct paving with consistent accuracy. A highlight was a 15?metre paving width achieved in a single pass, demonstrating the capability of Wirtgen equipment in large-scale projects.

By supporting complex paving operations efficiently, Wirtgen Group contributed to this landmark infrastructure achievement, reaffirming its commitment to modern road construction solutions in India.
