Global Electronics Firms Form Policy Council

The Global Electronics Association has launched the Global Electronics Policy Council (GEPC), a new forum bringing together leading electronics companies worldwide to advance a coordinated policy agenda across the supply chain. The council includes PCB manufacturers, EMS providers, OEMs, semiconductor suppliers, wire harness, and advanced packaging firms.

The move addresses growing policy pressures, including tariff volatility, export controls, and domestic investment mandates, amid global electronics trade reaching $4.5 trillion in 2023. GEPC will operate with formal bylaws, a structured leadership, and regional arms in North America, Europe, East Asia, and India/Southeast Asia.

Inaugural members—AT&S, Flex, Jabil, Plexus, TSMC, and TTM Technologies—will collaboratively develop a global policy agenda, issue formal positions, and report quarterly on government engagement. Thomas Cetta, Senior VP at Jabil and GEPC chairperson, highlighted the need for unified industry advocacy, stating the council enables the electronics sector to engage governments with credibility and accountability.
