Synology Unveils Data Solutions at COMPUTEX

Synology unveiled a series of product updates at COMPUTEX 2026 across data management, backup and recovery, surveillance, business productivity and private cloud environments. The updates aim to address rising demand among GCC organisations for stronger cyber resilience, data governance and AI-ready operations.

The announcements include the next generation of DiskStation Manager, ActiveProtect Manager 2.0, the new DP5200 appliance, expanded surveillance and access control solutions, additions to Synology Office Suite, and updates to the Bee Series private cloud ecosystem.

The company said the updates come as organisations in the Middle East reassess how they manage growing data volumes, secure distributed infrastructure and improve recovery readiness across on-premises, hybrid and cloud environments. Industry forecasts project IT spending in the Middle East and North Africa to reach $169 billion in 2026, up 8.9 per cent from 2025, while end-user spending on information security is expected to reach $4 billion.

The next generation of DSM supports GPU-powered NAS systems and AI appliances, enabling on-premises AI inference and governance. It also introduces DSM Agent for workflow automation, Cluster Manager for large-scale deployment management, Active Insight’s Mass Deployment feature and an upgraded Log Center for observability, compliance and security monitoring.

ActiveProtect Manager 2.0 extends backup and recovery support to AWS EC2, Azure VM, Proxmox, Nutanix AHV and Google Workspace. It also enables cross-platform recovery across hybrid cloud and virtualised infrastructure, with AI-powered anomaly and malware detection.

Synology also introduced new surveillance and access control products, including the AC100 door controller, AR Series readers, DC Series dome cameras and Deep Video Analytics appliances. Its new Surveillance365 offering supports hybrid cloud monitoring for remote and multi-site environments.

The company also expanded Synology Office Suite with ChatPlus and Meet, offering secure communication and virtual meeting capabilities with AI-powered transcription and translation while keeping data stored on-premises.

For individuals and homes, Synology updated its BeeStation and BeeStation Plus offerings with BeeCamera and Synology Deep Search, an AI-powered local search function for macOS and Windows.
