Resurgent Mining launches Gainwell's Saoner mining project

Resurgent Mining Solutions has inaugurated the Saoner Continuous Miner (CM) underground mining project of the Gainwell Group. The project was officially launched on 28 May 2026.

The project will operate under a 10-year production agreement with a targeted cumulative coal output of 10.62 million tonnes. Two Continuous Miner sets will be deployed to achieve a peak annual production capacity of 1.20 million tonnes, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and long-term productivity.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kameshwar Rao, Group Underground Business Head, Gainwell, and Shantanu Sarkar, Group Operations Head, along with senior officials from Gainwell's Underground Mining Division and dignitaries from Western Coalfields (WCL).
