Generac Opens First India GCC in Pune
2026-06-10
Generac has inaugurated the Generac Business & Technology Centre (GBTC), its first dedicated Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India, marking a significant step in the company's global growth strategy.
Designed by architecture firm TOA, the 21,494 sq. ft. facility in Pune has been built to accommodate more than 150 employees, with provisions for future expansion. The centre will function as a multi-functional strategic hub and is expected to evolve into a Centre of Excellence for select engineering domains, enabling the company to strengthen specialised capabilities across its global operations.
India was chosen following an assessment of talent requirements to support Generac's evolving business needs, while Pune was selected for its strong manufacturing and engineering talent base aligned with the company's focus on power generation and energy solutions.
"This marks an important milestone in our global growth journey to build a strong, scalable global capability engine. The India GCC will play a critical role in advancing Generac's technology, digital, and business capabilities, while also serving as a hub for developing future-ready leadership and deep technical expertise," said Shyam Sunder, Vice President – Global Business and Technology Center, Generac India.
The workspace incorporates sensor-based energy management systems, digital access and security solutions, collaborative zones, quiet focus rooms and adaptive work environments. Sustainable features include acoustic PET panels, energy-efficient lighting and durable materials designed to support long-term operational efficiency.
Commenting on the project, Aditya Yamsanwar, Director, TOA, said, "The modern GCC is becoming a critical driver of innovation, talent, and business continuity for global enterprises. While designing Generac's workspace, our intent was to build an environment that encourages seamless collaboration, adaptability, and employee well-being while supporting the dynamic needs of a growing global team."
With the launch of GBTC, Generac said it aims to reinforce India's role as a strategic pillar in its global innovation and growth agenda.
