Hindustan Zinc Partners Sulfozyme for Zinc Park Project

Hindustan Zinc has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sulfozyme Agro India under its Zinc Industrial Park initiative at Khankhala in Bhilwara district, Rajasthan. The partnership aims to strengthen India’s downstream zinc sector through sustainable metal recovery, resource efficiency and industrial development.

Under the agreement, Sulfozyme Agro will establish proposed operations at the Zinc Industrial Park to process zinc-based materials into value-added products for industrial and downstream applications.

Hindustan Zinc will support the venture through assured raw material linkage and long-term ecosystem support. The collaboration is expected to enable efficient operations, integrated supply chains and scalable manufacturing within the Park’s industrial network.

The partnership also aligns with Hindustan Zinc’s plan to support the MSME ecosystem by creating opportunities for downstream industries, local entrepreneurship and industrial growth in Rajasthan.

The Zinc Park proposal was first announced by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in December 2024. The project is progressing through phased investor partnerships and strategic collaborations.

Developed in collaboration with RIICO, the Zinc Industrial Park is planned as a dedicated downstream manufacturing hub that connects raw material availability with value-added zinc production.

The Park will offer ready-to-use infrastructure, proximity to raw material supply and an industry-focused operating environment. It is expected to attract zinc customers, processors, MSMEs and downstream manufacturers seeking scalable manufacturing opportunities around zinc and allied products.

Arun Misra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc, said the company is focused on building a future-ready industrial platform driven by innovation, sustainability and resource efficiency. He added that the partnership with Sulfozyme Agro reflects Hindustan Zinc’s commitment to circular economy and downstream value creation.

The Zinc Industrial Park is expected to support industrial growth in Rajasthan by enabling downstream industries, promoting entrepreneurship and generating specialised employment opportunities.

The initiative is anchored on sustainability, circular economy principles and renewable energy adoption, while supporting India’s critical minerals and metals value chain.

With this MoU, Hindustan Zinc aims to further strengthen its focus on responsible manufacturing, clean technology, resource efficiency and downstream industrial expansion.
