ICEMA Discusses Sector Growth with Union Ministers

The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA) held discussions with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Heavy Industries Shri H D Kumaraswamy, and Chief Economic Adviser to the Government of India Dr V Anantha Nageswaran on the growth and transformation of India’s infrastructure and construction equipment sector.

During the interactions, ICEMA invited the dignitaries to the ICEMA Annual Session scheduled for 1 September 2026 and exchanged views on the opportunities and challenges shaping the industry's future.

Key areas of discussion included accelerating infrastructure development, improving industry competitiveness, addressing sectoral challenges and strengthening the measurement of infrastructure activity through a telematics-enabled construction equipment utilisation index.

ICEMA said the interactions provided valuable guidance and insights, reinforcing the industry's commitment to working closely with the government to support infrastructure-led growth and contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
