Terex CTT 472 Crane Powers Canada Skyscraper Build
2026-06-17
Cropac Equipment, the official Terex Tower Cranes dealer for Eastern Canada, has supplied a Terex CTT 472-20t flat-top tower crane for the construction of the 110-storey Pinnacle SkyTower in Toronto.
The crane was sold to project contractor Premform and has been used on the landmark Pinnacle One Yonge development, located on Toronto’s waterfront. SkyTower is set to be Canada’s tallest residential building currently under development.
The crane was progressively climbed alongside the structure using an anchoring system with 16 internal ties, reaching a final height of 348 m. Cropac also supplied additional mast sections, tie-collars and related climbing components to support the project’s height and schedule requirements.
Configured with a 55 m jib and 6.24 t tip load, the CTT 472-20t is equipped with an 80 kW hoist and can lift at a maximum speed of 196 m per minute. The configuration supported material handling operations throughout the high-rise project.
The crane has been part of the construction for the past four years and is scheduled to be dismantled later in Q3 2026.
SkyTower forms part of the broader Pinnacle One Yonge master-planned community, which will include residential, hospitality and commercial spaces across 110 storeys.
