Suzlon Secures 400 MW Wind Project From Tata Power

Suzlon has secured an order from Tata Power to deliver a 400 megawatt (MW) wind energy project in Andhra Pradesh. The contract awards Suzlon responsibility for the supply and installation of wind turbines and associated infrastructure at the site. The firm said the project forms part of a broader effort by both companies to expand renewable capacity across India.

The scope of work covers delivery, erection and commissioning as well as operations and maintenance support. The order will be integrated into Suzlon's existing project pipeline and will contribute to Tata Power's renewable portfolio, reinforcing its generation mix. The award reflects sustained demand for utility-scale wind assets in regional markets.

The project will add to the state's grid-connected renewable generation and support decarbonisation efforts in Andhra Pradesh. It will create local employment during the construction and operations phases while delivering clean energy to the grid. The development aligns with national objectives to increase non-fossil fuel capacity and reduce emissions intensity.

Suzlon's order book will be strengthened by the contract and the company will move to mobilise resources and commence works on site. For Tata Power the project advances a strategy to scale up renewable generation across multiple states. Both firms indicated they will coordinate on scheduling, grid integration and compliance with regulatory norms.

The transaction underscores the centrality of wind in India's clean energy transition and complements solar and other renewable technologies. Suzlon's track record in project execution and service provision will be instrumental in meeting technical and regulatory requirements, including measures for grid stability and coordination with local supply chains. Delivering this project will support regional decarbonisation, bolster energy security and contribute to long-term additions to non-fossil fuel capacity.
