ACE, KATO Form JV to Make High-Capacity Cranes in India
2026-07-03
Action Construction Equipment and Japan-based KATO Works recently announced ACE KATO, a 50:50 joint venture to manufacture high-capacity cranes in India for domestic and international markets. The company will focus on truck cranes, crawler cranes and rough terrain cranes for infrastructure, transportation, mining, ports, energy, metro rail and industrial applications.
The joint venture has set up an 11-acre manufacturing facility in Haryana with a planned investment of around Rs 200 crore. The investment will support manufacturing infrastructure, advanced production systems, technology integration and product development, with further investments planned in phases to expand capacity.
The partnership combines KATO’s crane engineering, design and technology expertise with ACE’s manufacturing strength, supplier network, localisation capabilities and nationwide sales and service presence. KATO will lead product engineering and technology, while ACE will manage manufacturing, sourcing and localisation.
ACE KATO aims to progressively localise components through ACE’s supplier ecosystem to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce lead times, strengthen supply-chain resilience and optimise production costs. The venture supports the ‘Made in India for the World’ vision and is expected to enhance India’s role in the global construction equipment value chain.
