BikeWo Partners with Yubhas Renewables for Solar Assisted EV Pilot

Feedback from riders and fleet managers will be used to fine tune vehicle design and performance ahead of wider commercial deployment, with the partners indicating that iterative improvements are central to their approach. The companies are exploring potential financing routes including the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, noting that any credit arrangements will be subject to borrower eligibility and lender approvals. The pilot will also assess maintenance workflows and serviceability to inform scalable support models for remote and semi urban locations.

Beyond technical evaluation, the partnership intends to promote rural entrepreneurship by developing a skill development programme targeted at young people, which will cover vehicle operations, maintenance, customer service and basic business management. The aim is to enable participants to become owner operators of clean mobility ventures that can generate supplementary income in local economies. The long term objective is to support livelihoods by deploying solar assisted electric vehicles for passenger transport, agricultural logistics, healthcare access, village deliveries and other essential rural mobility needs.

BikeWo described its ambition to build an integrated electric mobility ecosystem spanning retail, leasing, fleet enablement, charging infrastructure, intelligent mobility solutions and related technologies, while Yubhas Renewables characterised its focus as delivering practical solar assisted platforms for rural and semi urban markets. The two companies said operational insights from the pilot will guide refinements to improve affordability, reliability and commercial viability before scaling. Both partners indicated that the initiative seeks to create a sustainable ecosystem where clean mobility can support entrepreneurship and improve access to essential services.
