We will continue to invest in integrated commercial destinations: Amrita Gupta

Amrita Gupta, Director, Manglam Group and CEO, Manglam Spa and Resorts, speaks on how projects like Westin Jaipur Resort and Sheraton Jaipur are strengthening Manglam Group's integrated real estate and hospitality strategy.

Manglam Group has announced a Rs 1,000 crore hospitality expansion in Rajasthan—what strategic vision is driving this next phase of growth?
Hospitality has emerged as a defining pillar of Manglam Group’s long-term growth strategy, underpinned by a vision of creating destination-led experiences that transcend conventional hospitality. The genesis of this journey was The Westin Jaipur Resort & Spa, followed by Fern Marriott PinkWalk, and now the upcoming Sheraton Jaipur. While each development has been conceived with a distinct identity and purpose, together they represent a cohesive hospitality portfolio built on the principles of quality, authenticity and enduring value creation.

Our Rs 1,000 crore hospitality roadmap is a reflection of this long-term conviction. Rather than viewing hospitality as a standalone business vertical, we see it as the fulcrum of integrated destinations where hospitality, commercial, retail and lifestyle experiences coexist to create vibrant ecosystems. This philosophy not only enhances the intrinsic value of our developments but also contributes meaningfully to Rajasthan's evolving tourism and hospitality landscape.

As Manglam Group enters its next phase of growth, our ambition extends beyond expanding a hospitality portfolio. We aspire to curate a collection of transformative destinations that celebrate Rajasthan’s cultural richness while delivering globally benchmarked hospitality experiences through strategic collaborations with leading international brands. Guided by responsible stewardship, enduring partnerships and an uncompromising commitment to excellence, we believe hospitality will remain one of the strongest catalysts shaping Manglam Group’s future growth trajectory.

How do projects like The Westin Jaipur Resort & Spa and the upcoming Sheraton Jaipur strengthen Manglam Group's integrated real estate and hospitality strategy?
The Westin Jaipur Resort & Spa represents far more than our entry into luxury hospitality; it marks the genesis of a transformative journey that continues to shape Manglam Group’s evolution. While our legacy has always been rooted in creating landmark real estate developments, hospitality demanded an entirely different philosophy—one defined by meticulous attention to detail, operational excellence and an unwavering commitment to crafting memorable guest experiences.

The journey of conceptualising and bringing The Westin to life alongside Marriott International was both intellectually enriching and strategically significant. It broadened our perspective, challenged conventional thinking and reaffirmed our conviction that enduring hospitality brands are built not merely through exceptional infrastructure, but through authenticity, shared values and an uncompromising pursuit of excellence.

The insights and experience gained through The Westin have become the cornerstone of our hospitality vision. Fern Marriott PinkWalk and the upcoming Sheraton Jaipur represent the natural progression of that journey, each reinforcing our confidence in the immense potential of Rajasthan's hospitality sector and our belief in the power of meaningful global collaborations. As we continue to strengthen our hospitality vertical, our endeavour is not simply to expand a portfolio of hotels, but to curate a distinguished collection of destination-led assets that elevate Rajasthan’s global hospitality profile. We remain committed to forging enduring partnerships with world-renowned hospitality brands that share our philosophy and complement Manglam Group's long-term aspiration of creating experiences that are both globally benchmarked and deeply rooted in the cultural ethos of Rajasthan.

Jaipur has emerged as one of India's fastest-growing Tier-2 real estate markets—what do you believe is driving this momentum?
Jaipur's growth is being driven by a combination of strong infrastructure development, expanding economic activity and its growing appeal as a destination for tourism, business and investment. Cities like Jaipur are increasingly evolving beyond traditional residential markets to become hubs for integrated commercial, hospitality and mixed-use developments. Improved connectivity, rising disposable incomes, organised urban expansion and sustained demand across residential, commercial and hospitality segments have together strengthened investor confidence and accelerated the city's growth story.

What role do infrastructure development and improved connectivity play in unlocking the growth potential of Tier-2 real estate markets like Jaipur?
Infrastructure is often the first catalyst that transforms the growth trajectory of a city. Improved highways, ring roads and enhanced urban connectivity do much more than reduce travel time. They open up new growth corridors, attract businesses, improve access to social infrastructure and encourage both public and private investment.

Jaipur is already witnessing this transformation through major infrastructure initiatives, including the expansion of the Jaipur Metro network, continued development of the Ring Road and strengthened regional connectivity. Together, these investments are creating a ripple effect across residential, commercial and hospitality real estate by unlocking new investment destinations, generating employment and accelerating urban growth. We believe this momentum will continue to strengthen Jaipur's position as one of India's most attractive Tier-2 real estate markets while creating new opportunities for integrated developments.

What are the biggest opportunities and challenges you foresee for developers operating in India's rapidly evolving Tier-2 cities?
The biggest opportunity lies in creating integrated, future-ready developments that go beyond standalone residential or commercial projects. As Tier-2 cities continue to evolve, there is growing demand for destinations that seamlessly combine work, hospitality, retail and lifestyle experiences while placing equal emphasis on sustainability, quality infrastructure and long-term value creation. At the same time, developers must balance this opportunity with timely execution, evolving customer expectations, regulatory compliance and responsible development practices. The ability to build sustainably, adapt to changing market needs and create developments that remain relevant over the long term will be the defining differentiator for the next generation of real estate developers.

Looking ahead, what are Manglam Group’s key growth priorities, and what can we expect from the company over the next few years?
Our growth strategy is centered on creating landmark developments that contribute meaningfully to the way cities evolve. We will continue to strengthen our presence across residential, commercial and hospitality segments through thoughtfully planned projects that respond to changing market needs. Alongside expanding our hospitality portfolio under Manglam Spa and Resorts, we will continue to invest in integrated commercial destinations like PinkWest that create long-term value for customers, investors and the communities they serve. As we enter our next phase of growth, our focus will remain on building destination-led developments that combine quality, sustainability and strong long-term fundamentals.
