All Delhi Metro Stations Reopen After Security Closure
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said passenger services have fully resumed across all stations of the Delhi Metro network, providing relief to hundreds of thousands of daily commuters across the National Capital Region. The authority posted a service update on X confirming that all stations are open for passenger movement. The restoration follows a period of selective station closures implemented for security reasons.
Earlier updates from the DMRC indicated that entry gates at Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations had been reopened to restore access at key nodes. The authority also reported that entry and exit gates at Jhandewalan station on the Blue Line had been reopened to permit passenger movement. Service updates were relayed via the operator's official social channel.
The temporary closure had affected 16 stations to maintain security while keeping train switching options available at major interchange points. Stations listed as closed until further instructions included Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh and Shivaji Stadium. Despite the closures, interchange facilities remained available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat to enable transfers across the network.
The DMRC clarified the specific locations subject to security protocols and outlined how passenger transfers would operate during the restrictions. The shutdown coincided with the third day of Parliament's Monsoon Session, with many of the affected stations situated close to Jantar Mantar and the Parliament complex. Commuters were advised to follow operational updates from the authority as services normalised across the system. Officials indicated that normal operations would be monitored closely and further updates issued as required to ensure commuter safety and smooth network movement.
