Schedule a Call Back
According to reports, Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) officials visited the site recently where they found out that nine people owned a portion of the 43 acre. They are required to be given compensatory land, if the entire stretch is to be utilised for the project. But even if the stretch is excluded, 40 acre will still remain usable.
Before the project is taken over by TIDCO, the land is required to be handed over to the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA). Boundaries have to be demarcated for the land which will be given to VMRDA, which, in turn, will roll it over to TIDCO.
To further advance the land-pooling exercise, the VMRDA reportedly needs to assess the consent letters to be ensured of the claims made by the encroachers who are to willing give away their land. Additionally, it is also required to remove the objections filed by those who are currently unwilling to be a participant. As reported, TIDCO has already started calling for the tenders, hence the land has to be handed over soon.
