First remote monitoring system for oil refineries launched
BHEL-GE Gas Turbine Service, a joint venture of BHEL and General Electric, implemented the Remote Monitoring and Operation Centre for tracking Indian oil?s refinery Gas Turbines.
This is the first time in India that an Oil PSU implemented a multi-unit monitoring system.
Initially, the remote monitoring system was to be operated out of Atlanta Analytical Centre of GE in the United States. Now, it operates in Hyderabad due to National Cyber Guidelines and Data Residency Clause.
Proactive Predictive Analytics-based Automated Anomaly Detection technology will digitally transmit Gas Turbine Operational Data of 27 turbines of eight Indian Oil refineries for 24-hour analysis in Hyderabad.
This technology will help to diagnose and detect emerging issues related to gas turbines before they are critical and take corrective actions. It will also avoid the refinery process unit shutdowns.
