Q4: BHEL net profit falls over 25%
The consolidated net profit of state-owned Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd. (BHEL) decreased by more than 25% to Rs 4.89 billion during the March quarter, mostly as a result of increased costs. Its combined net profit for the quarter that ended on March 31, 2023, was Rs 6.58 billion.
The company's total costs increased from Rs 74.11 billion during the same time last year to Rs 77.94 billion during the quarter.The total income for the quarter increased slightly from Rs 83.38 billion to Rs 84.16 billion from the same time last year.
According to the statement by the entity, the board has proposed a final dividend on the paid-up share capital of the firm for the fiscal year 2023-2024 at a rate of 12.5%, or 25 paise per share with a face value of Rs 2.
Additionally, its consolidated net profit decreased to Rs 2.82 billion in the fiscal year 2023?24 from Rs 6.54 billion in the previous year. In 2022-2023, the total income grew slightly to Rs 244 billion from Rs 238 billion.
