Adani Power Stays Committed to Bangladesh Amid Rule Change

"Adani Power is committed to fulfilling contractual obligations as per Bangladesh Power Development Board?s demand schedule and the power purchase agreement," the company said in a statement. Adani Power?s 1,600 megawatt (MW) Godda plant in Jharkhand is unique in India for exporting 100% of its power to a neighboring country.
The recent amendment, which allows generators to supply electricity to both domestic and neighboring markets, aims to hedge against political risks in countries like Bangladesh. This change comes shortly after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled Bangladesh amid protests over job quotas.
Adani Power?s assurance reflects its ongoing dedication to meeting its contractual obligations and supporting future power projects with export contracts.
