Yogi Adityanath Approves Rs 29.91 billion Aqua Line Metro Extension
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the Rs 29.91 billion project to extend the Noida Metro's Aqua Line from Sector-51 to Greater Noida Knowledge Park V. The extension is designed to boost connectivity, ease congestion, and generate employment opportunities in the region.
The proposed expansion will cover approximately 11 stations, connecting key areas in Noida and Greater Noida. The stations will include Noida Sector-51, Sector-61, Sector-70, Sector-122, Sector-123, Greater Noida Sector-4, Eco Tech-12, and Greater Noida Sectors-2, 3, 10, 12, and Knowledge Park V. This development aims to alleviate traffic congestion on the Noida-Greater Noida Link Road while improving daily commutes.
A significant feature of the project is the interchange hub planned at Noida Sector-61. This hub will link the Aqua Line with the Delhi Metro's Blue Line, enabling seamless connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida West, and Delhi. The hub is expected to revolutionise transit by offering faster, more direct travel options for thousands of commuters.
The Aqua Line extension underscores a commitment to sustainable urban mobility, promoting eco-friendly travel options, and reducing vehicular congestion. It will also improve access to the existing metro networks, providing a more efficient and accessible transportation system for the growing urban population.
