Air India Revamps International Network with Enhanced Aircraft

Air India is set to overhaul its international operations, introducing retrofitted A320 neo aircraft, Vistara's former A321 neo planes, and B787-9 aircraft on specific routes. As part of its five-year transformation plan under the Tata Group, the airline will deploy A320 neos with fully refreshed interiors across economy, premium economy, and business classes for all flights between Delhi and Bangkok starting January 16, 2025. Additionally, Air India will launch a fourth daily flight on the Delhi-Bangkok route from January 1, 2025, complementing its existing three daily services. The airline will also assign Vistara's A321 neos and B787-9s to various routes, including Delhi-Frankfurt and Mumbai-Frankfurt services operated with B787-9s. From January 1, 2025, Air India will also operate twice-daily Mumbai-Singapore flights using A321 neos and introduce a daily B787-9 flight between Delhi and Singapore. To improve connectivity, Air India will optimise flight schedules for its Delhi-Frankfurt and Delhi-Paris routes from February 1, 2025, offering both daytime and nighttime departures in both directions. This adjustment provides greater flexibility for travelers and enhances connectivity between Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. The airline has also retimed its daily Delhi-Sydney and Delhi-Melbourne flights to ensure seamless two-way connectivity between Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. Passengers from cities like London, Paris, and Frankfurt will benefit from one-stop connections to Sydney, Melbourne, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Ho Chi Minh City via Delhi. These changes come amid the Tata Group's ongoing consolidation of its airline business, which includes the integration of Vistara with Air India and AIX Connect with Air India Express. (ET)
