JSW Group Eyes Foreign Firms For Salboni Industrial Park

JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal has announced plans to attract Japanese and Korean manufacturers to the upcoming Salboni industrial park in West Bengal. The initiative aligns with global shifts in supply chains following trade tensions between the United States and China.

The industrial park will be located next to JSW Energy’s 1.6 gigawatt ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in West Medinipur. With two units of 800 megawatts each, the plant is expected to provide dedicated, reliable power to companies based at the site. Jindal stated that many firms based in China are seeking new operational hubs, and West Bengal offers a strategic alternative. The park will offer plug-and-play infrastructure, aimed at easing setup for manufacturers.

He praised the state government’s support and highlighted the region’s growing industrial ecosystem. The twin developments—the industrial park and the power plant—are expected to bolster employment, investment, and industrial growth in the state.
