Western Railway Clears 780 Sq M Encroachment Near Bandra Pipeline

Western Railway, in collaboration with several law enforcement agencies, conducted a significant operation today to reclaim public land on the south-east side of Bandra near the Tansa Pipeline. The large-scale encroachment removal drive involved over 225 personnel and resulted in the clearance of approximately 780 square meters of railway land that had been occupied by unauthorized structures. During the operation, 45 makeshift dwellings constructed from bamboo, tarpaulin, and plastic sheets were dismantled.

Western Railway stated that the demolition drive was carried out under tight security, with coordinated efforts from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), local police, and engineering staff from the railway department. Officials confirmed that despite the scale of the operation, it was executed smoothly and without any incidents.

A senior Western Railway official explained that the drive was part of a wider initiative to protect critical railway infrastructure from illegal encroachments. He highlighted that safeguarding these corridors was essential not only for railway operations but also for ensuring public safety.

Authorities further emphasized that regular inspections and strict enforcement measures would continue to maintain encroachment-free zones along important transport routes.
