AP Cabinet Clears New Land Pooling Plan for Amaravati Infrastructure

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved a fresh round of land pooling to facilitate infrastructure development in Amaravati, aiming to accommodate the future needs of the capital region. The decision was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

The cabinet approved the formulation and implementation of the Capital Region Land Pooling Scheme Rules, 2025. These rules are designed to support the development of world-class infrastructure, including educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and administrative hubs in Amaravati. In line with orders from the National Green Tribunal and the Supreme Court, the rules include measures to protect water bodies. The land pooling process is intended to be conducted smoothly and fairly, with an improved compensation package for participating farmers.

The cabinet also authorized the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) commissioner to accept L1 bids for three key infrastructure projects in the Amaravati government complex: the Integrated State Secretariat and Head of Departments (HOD) Offices (GAD Tower), Towers 1 & 2, and Towers 3 & 4.

Administrative approval was granted for a Rs 10.52 billion project to install utility ducts, reclaimed water pipelines, sewerage systems, power and ICT infrastructure, and avenue plantations in the government complex.

Approval was also given to invite tenders for Phase-III construction and widening of the E3 Road, which includes bridges, underpasses, a six-lane elevated corridor, utility infrastructure, and a major interchange connecting NH-16.

The cabinet cleared a proposal to establish seven new Anna Canteens in rural areas under urban development authorities at an estimated cost of Rs 40.47 million. It also confirmed the setting up of two additional Anna Canteens, one at Kuppam and another at the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

In the area of sports and civil services, the cabinet approved the appointment of international tennis player Saket Sai Myneni as Deputy Collector under the sports quota.

Additionally, the cabinet approved the framing of rules and guidelines for the registration, renewal, and operation of adventure tourism activities in the state.

It also ratified decisions made by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) on June 19, which include incentives for Green Park Hotels & Resorts Meglon Leisures and Entertainment LLP, and Pavani Hotels.

Finally, the cabinet approved the upgrade of 6,497 mini Anganwadi centres to full-scale main centres as part of ongoing efforts to enhance early childhood care and education infrastructure.
