Raimondi Cranes to Acquire Terex Tower, Self-Erecting & Rough Terrain Units

Raimondi Cranes, the Italian heritage manufacturer of heavy lifting solutions under Arada Industries (a subsidiary of Arada Group), has signed a definitive agreement to acquire key businesses from US-based Terex Corporation.

The acquisition includes Terex Tower Cranes, Terex Self-Erecting Cranes, Terex Rough Terrain Cranes, and Terex’s North America service and support operations in Wilmington, North Carolina. The facilities at Fontanafredda and Crespellano in Italy will also be part of the deal.

This move significantly strengthens Raimondi’s product portfolio, expanding its expertise in luffing jib and tower cranes, while introducing new business lines in self-erecting and rough terrain cranes. Around 250 employees will transition to Raimondi, bringing the Group’s workforce to nearly 400.

Luigi Maggioni, Chief Executive Officer, Raimondi Group, said: “This transformative move, recognised as the most impactful deal in the industry in two decades, marks the largest acquisition in our history. By integrating Terex’s crane businesses, we are creating synergies that will enable sustainable growth and cement our position as a global lifting leader.”

The agreement will provide Raimondi with enhanced manufacturing capacity, streamlined procurement, and greater global reach through Terex’s extensive distribution and service network. It also accelerates Raimondi’s entry into the North American market, complementing its strong presence in Europe and the Middle East.

Simon Meester, President & CEO, Terex Corporation, added: “We are pleased to partner with Raimondi, a manufacturer renowned for its innovation and customer focus. This transition will ensure our teams and customers continue to be supported while unlocking new growth opportunities.”

Raimondi is targeting annual global revenues of $500 million by 2028, with the transaction expected to close in the third quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
