Concord Control Systems Secures First Kavach 4.0 Order via Progota India

Concord Control Systems (CNCRD), a leading manufacturer of embedded electronic systems and critical electronic solutions, has secured its first order for Kavach 4.0 through associate company Progota India. Valued at Rs 190.45 million, the order represents the start of large-scale implementation opportunities for advanced railway safety systems in India.

With this milestone, Concord will become one of the few railway companies to have a fully developed Kavach system approved for supply to Indian Railways. The next-generation Kavach has successfully advanced through the stringent approval journey of Indian Railways, including product approval and initial Safety Integrity Level 4 (SiL4) third-party certification. Approximately 70 per cent of the SiL4 process is already complete, with remaining stages aligned to upcoming trials.

Nitin Jain, Joint Managing Director, Concord Control Systems Limited, said:
"This field order is not just a validation of our engineering capabilities but also a stepping stone for scaling our Kavach deployment across the Indian Railways network. We are confident that our fully in-house developed system will set new benchmarks for safety, reliability, and self-reliance in railway technology."

Under the mandate, Progota will handle design, development, supply, installation, trials, and commissioning of on-board Kavach equipment in locomotives, as well as trackside equipment for the South Central Railway.

Concord’s fully in-house developed Kavach provides a substantial first-mover advantage in railway safety electronics. In comparison, new entrants typically require three to five years to reach this stage, underscoring the company’s leadership in technology, compliance, and time-to-market.

With this achievement, Concord Control Systems continues to set new benchmarks in railway safety innovation, delivering future-ready solutions for India’s modern rail infrastructure.
