Kerala’s Third Vande Bharat Train to Begin Operations in November

The Indian Railways is set to introduce Kerala’s third Vande Bharat Express in November, further enhancing intercity connectivity across the state. The new semi high-speed train will operate between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod, covering the route in under eight hours.

The latest addition follows two successful Vande Bharat services in the state—one connecting Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod via Kottayam and the other via Alappuzha. The new train aims to optimise travel time and serve as an alternative for passengers on the busy corridor.

According to railway officials, the new service will likely have halts at key stations including Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Timings and final details are expected to be announced soon.

The Vande Bharat trains have gained popularity for their comfort, speed, and advanced features such as automatic doors, reclining seats, and improved onboard services. The introduction of another train in Kerala aligns with the Railways’ plan to increase the frequency of modern, efficient train services across India.
