Syrma SGS Acquires Majority Stake in Elcome Integrated Systems

Syrma SGS Technology, a leading Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) company, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a 60 per cent majority stake in Elcome Integrated Systems (Elcome), marking a strategic entry into India’s Defence and Maritime electronics domain.

Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Navi Mumbai, Elcome is a well-established Indian company specializing in advanced electronic systems, integrated command solutions, and mission-critical technologies. Over the past four decades, it has been a trusted partner to India’s Defence and Maritime establishments, offering design, integration, and support for navigation, communication, and surveillance systems — including Integrated Bridge Systems, navigation radars, and maritime communication suites. These are deployed extensively across Indian Navy and maritime platforms, supported by a pan-India service network.

Elcome’s strong R&D foundation and engineering depth enable it to deliver high-reliability, indigenous solutions tailored to complex operational requirements. Its portfolio spans navigation, communication, and control systems used in mission-critical defence and maritime applications.

The acquisition strengthens Syrma SGS’s presence in the fast-growing Defence Electronics segment — a key area of national importance — by combining Elcome’s domain expertise with Syrma SGS’s industrial-scale manufacturing, supply chain capabilities, and product engineering strengths. Together, the two companies aim to deliver high-reliability, innovation-led systems for defence customers in India and abroad.

Aligned with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, this move reinforces India’s commitment to self-reliance in advanced electronic systems and the growth of indigenous defence technology capabilities.
