Navi Mumbai Airport To Begin Flights On 25 December

Developed by Navi Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (NMIAL), a joint venture between the Adani Group and the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd (CIDCO), NMIA is the second major airport serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 8 October.

In its initial phase, the airport will manage around 120 air traffic movements each day. From February 2026, operations will shift to a 24-hour schedule, increasing planned daily departures to 34.

The inaugural arrival will be IndiGo flight 6E460 from Bengaluru, landing at 8:00 am. The first outbound service will follow shortly after, with IndiGo flight 6E882 departing for Hyderabad at 8:40 am.

During the launch period, passengers will be able to fly with IndiGo, Air India Express, and Akasa Air, offering connections from Mumbai to 16 key domestic destinations.

The first phase of NMIA has been completed at a cost of Rs 196.5 billion. Spread across 1,160 hectares, it includes a single terminal and one runway, designed to handle up to 20 million passengers annually.
