IMTEX Forming 2026 to Showcase Global Metal-Forming Innovations
2025-11-26
The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) will organise IMTEX Forming 2026 from 21–25 January 2026 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru. Asia’s largest exhibition on metal-forming and manufacturing technologies will feature more than 600 exhibitors from 20 countries across four exhibition halls, covering 46,000 sq m of space.
The event will be held alongside Tooltech, highlighting machine-tool accessories, metrology, CAD/CAM tools and tooling systems; a Digital Manufacturing pavilion showcasing solutions in additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0; and Weldexpo, organised with the Indian Institute of Welding to present the latest welding technologies. Moldex India and Fastenex India, organised by Messe Stuttgart, will also be co-located.
Parallel events include the ninth International Seminar on Forming Technology on 22–23 January to discuss emerging trends and equipment; i2 Academia Square, offering research institutions a platform to present R&D initiatives; and the Jagruti–IMTMA Youth Programme aimed at familiarising young professionals with the latest manufacturing advancements.
The exhibition will see strong group participation from Germany, Italy, Japan and Taiwan. Visitors are expected from automotive, aerospace, defence, medical, power, railways, construction equipment, general engineering, capital goods, electrical and electronics and consumer-durables sectors.
IMTMA President Mohini Kelkar said the metal-forming segment, currently accounting for 29 per cent of the Indian machine-tool market, is set for strong growth. Consumption in FY25 stood at Rs 91.39 billion, with production at Rs 26.96 billion. Exports rose by about six per cent, led by presses, followed by press brakes, bending machines and shearing machines.
IMTMA Director General and CEO Jibak Dasgupta noted the increasing adoption of laser-based applications and rising participation from laser-technology manufacturers. Exhibits will include fibre-laser systems, precision levellers, servo presses, pick-and-place units, monitoring systems, welding solutions and 3D-printing technologies. He added that IMTEX Forming 2026 will accelerate the manufacturing and export of home-grown products.
The five-day exhibition will serve as a platform to drive digital transformation and high-productivity solutions in Indian manufacturing.
