Suzlon Secures 306 MW Repeat Wind Order From Yanara

Suzlon Energy Ltd has signed two wind power contracts of 153 MW each with Yanara, extending their existing partnership. The orders, announced on December 17, mark the second repeat contract won by Suzlon from Yanara in 2025.

Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply 102 S144 wind turbine generators, each with a rated capacity of 3 MW, for Yanara’s firm and dispatchable renewable energy projects in Barmer, Rajasthan. Suzlon said the collaboration strengthens its leadership in Rajasthan’s wind energy market, while enabling Yanara to expand its multi-technology clean energy portfolio.

Suzlon currently commands around 44 per cent of Rajasthan’s installed wind capacity, equivalent to about 2.3 GW out of the state’s total 5.2 GW. The company is also executing another large engineering, procurement and construction project in Rajasthan with a total capacity of 791 MW.

Power generated from the new orders will partially meet Yanara’s power purchase agreement commitments with multiple entities, including NTPC and NHPC.

Suzlon Group Chief Executive Officer JP Chalasani said the company’s turbines are designed to perform reliably in high ambient temperatures such as those in Rajasthan, adding that the continued partnership with Yanara reflects Suzlon’s technology strength and execution capabilities.

Shares of Suzlon Energy were trading largely unchanged in early trade on Wednesday at Rs 52.61. The stock remains nearly 30 per cent below its 52-week high of Rs 74.
