FADA Vyapar Gujarat Concludes, Driving ‘Viksit Gujarat Ki Raftaar’

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) successfully concluded the latest edition of FADA Vyapar Gujarat in Ahmedabad, setting the momentum for “Viksit Gujarat Ki Raftaar”. Aligned with the state’s long-term vision of Viksit Gujarat @2047, the conclave underscored the automobile retail sector’s critical role in economic growth, employment generation and grassroots entrepreneurship.

The event was inaugurated by Rajesh R. Gandhi, Senior Vice President, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), as Chief Guest, along with Govind Sinha, Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India, Ahmedabad, as Guest of Honour. Senior FADA leadership present included C. S. Vigneshwar, President, FADA; Pranav Shah, Chairperson, FADA Gujarat; and Amar J. Sheth, Secretary, FADA.

In a message read out during the inaugural session, Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister, Gujarat, highlighted FADA’s role as the apex body of India’s automobile retail industry since 1964. He noted that automobile dealers play a vital role in employment creation, financial inclusion and skill development, particularly at the MSME and grassroots levels. He added that the conclave’s focus on sustainability, innovation and green mobility aligns well with Gujarat’s inclusive growth roadmap.

Addressing the gathering, C. S. Vigneshwar, President, FADA, described Gujarat as a “mobility powerhouse” driven by strong entrepreneurship and rapid adoption of EVs and hybrids. He also informed members that the Hon’ble Supreme Court has admitted FADA’s writ petition on the Compensation Cess issue and issued notice to the Government, marking a key step towards protecting dealer interests. He emphasised the importance of skilling through initiatives such as the FADA Academy to make dealerships future-ready.

The conclave featured knowledge sessions on financial prudence, vehicle registration reforms, GST compliance, leadership and management, and industry innovations, followed by partner felicitation and special recognition of Surendra Sharma, Managing Director, Sharma Cars Pvt Ltd. With participation from around 250 dealers and stakeholders, the event served as a strong platform for collaboration, learning and policy alignment.
