Mastek Appoints Google Tech Leader Marc Berson To Board

Based in the United States, Berson currently serves as Head of Google Internal Systems (CIO) at Google. His appointment underscores Mastek’s intent to deepen its North American footprint while bringing Silicon Valley–led strategic oversight to the board.

Berson is a recognised leader within the global CIO community, with a career spanning senior leadership roles at Gilead Sciences, HP, IBM and Philips. He has led large-scale enterprise transformations and was recognised by Inspire CIO as both a Super Global ORBIE Award finalist in 2023 and a winner in 2024. His expertise spans complex process transformation, systems modernisation and cutting-edge digital innovation.

Commenting on the appointment, Umang Nahata, Chief Executive Officer of Mastek, said Berson brings a rare blend of deep technology insight and practitioner-led experience in managing global-scale complexity. Berson holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in Project Management from George Washington University.
