IDE Technologies to Build 60 MLD Desalination Plant in Tamil Nadu

IDE Technologies, a global provider of water treatment solutions, has signed a contract with the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (SIPCOT) for the design, construction, and operation of a 60 MLD seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant in Tamil Nadu. The project will be executed in partnership with Jindal Water Infrastructure Limited (JWIL) and Vishnusurya Projects and Infra (VPIL).

The plant will be located at Mullakadu in Tuticorin and is aimed at strengthening regional water security while addressing rising water scarcity in the area. IDE secured the project in a competitive bidding process and will implement it under a Hybrid Annual Model on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis. The contract includes design and construction, followed by 15 years of operation and maintenance post-commissioning.

“Solving water challenges for regions in need is at the core of IDE’s mission to make clean, high-quality water accessible to anyone, anywhere,” said Nayan Shah, Director – Sales & Marketing, IDE India. “Our team looks forward to working alongside our industry partners, JWIL and VPIL, to bring a new, state-of-the-art SWRO desalination plant to Tamil Nadu and to expand our global footprint in the region.”

The project reinforces IDE Technologies’ growing presence in India and its focus on delivering cost-efficient, long-term desalination solutions.
