Essar Ports Vizag Terminal held largest dry bulk vessel

Essar Ports Vizag Terminal Limited (EVTL) told the media that it has handled the largest dry bulk vessel and recorded the largest parcel in Vizag Port.

EVTL successfully berthed the M V Star Eleni, a bulk carrier built in 2018, sailing under the flag of Liberia, loaded with DWT, 2,07,555 million tonnes, LOA, 299.88 m, and BEAM, 50 m. It marked the largest bulk carrier ever handled by EVTL.

The terminal successfully loaded a record 1,65,000 metric tonnes (MT) of iron ore fines on the M V Star Eleni vessel.

Essar Ports Vizag Terminal is a fully mechanised, eco-friendly infrastructure, which helps the terminals achieve benchmark performance and lower logistics costs for customers.

It has been strategically located in the Bay of Bengal near iron-ore mines in Chhattisgarh, southern Odisha, and Jharkhand.

The all-weather deep draft facility has the wherewithal to serve the rapidly growing Southeast Asian markets, including China, Japan, Korea, and the coastal movement for the steel industry within India.
